John Aloi is the owner of Papa Joe’s Famous Meats. Papa Joe’s opened June 20, 2022, in Monongah, WV.

Prior to opening Papa Joe’s Famous Meats, John served in the United States Army for over 25 years before retiring and moving back home to West Virginia.  John served two combat tours in Iraq and 3 tours in Afghanistan as a CH-47 (Chinook) pilot.  He served another combat tour in Afghanistan as an RC-12X (Guardrail) pilot. In his aviation career, John held positions as pilot in command, unit trainer, instructor pilot, instrument examiner, standardization officer, contracting officer’s representative, and government flight representative.  John’s other MOS’s in the Army included:  Military Policeman, Combat Engineer, and Arabic Linguist.  John retired as Chief Warrant Officer 4 in March of 2018.  Since retirement he has been the Jr. Vice Commander, Senior Vice Commander, Commander, and Trustee at Post 573.

John is a VFW Gold Legacy Life Member and Disabled Veterans of America Life Member, who continues to do volunteer work at the VFW in support of Veterans.
